WHO WE ARE

Mountain Area medical Airlift (MAMA) Foundation is a Not-For-Profit Organization whose primary objective is to offer a complete medical evacuation (medevac) solution for Papua New Guinea.

MAMA Foundation was incorporated on the 1st of September in 2020. The Foundation is focused on Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), providing medevac services for partner districts, provincial health authorities (PHAs), and the public and private sectors. The Foundation supports the provision and extension of health services to remote and rural Papua New Guinea (PNG) which are inaccessible by road.

Medical Evacuations which were formerly done under Manolos Aviation Ltd were officially managed by MAMA Foundation since January 2021.

In 2021 alone, more than 130 patients benefited from this medevac service that was successfully carried out by MAMA Foundation.

Mission

Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) Foundation is dedicated to providing exceptional pre-hospital medical care, stabilization, and transfer of critically ill patients, through the provision of medically fitted helicopters (or air ambulances).

Our values continue to define how we run our Foundation; People first, because every life is worth fighting for.

Vision

Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) will continuously work to improve its medical evacuation operations from remote villages and rural health facilities to urban hospitals.

This vision is achievable by:

  • regularly training and up skilling our team;

  • implement new innovations in advanced life support technology;

  • Embracing new and improved medical practices in Papua New Guinea and globally;

  • Continuous strategic planning and improvement evaluation on "how we can do MAMA better”
