WHAT WE DO

EMERGENCY MEDICAL EVACUATION Bringing patients to the nearest hospital immediately so that they can get medical help that is crucial to their survival.

NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL EVACUATION Upon customer request, we are able to medEvac patients to a medical facility of their choice within Papua New Guinea. These medEvacs are usually pre-planned and customized to patient’s needs.

MEDICAL EVACUATION REFERRALS These are usually from the rural health facilities to urban hospitals. In many cases, patients can’t make it to any of the nearest rural facilities and call us directly. Our flying nurses thoroughly asses the patient’s case and consult with our flight coordinators and pilots before departing for the medEvac. We ensure the best medical equipment and in-flight care for our patients, should a medEvac request arise.

COVID-19 TRANSFERS Patient transfers for both suspected case and positive case.We are mindful of the risks associated with these transfers and have strict measures in place to ensure the health and safety of the patient, medical personnel and pilot is not compromised.

OUR PROGRAMS

Rural Health Kits

The Rural Health Kits contain selected medicines and medical supplies, in predefined quantities, that are used for primary pharmaceutical supply, supplementary supply or emergency supply. The quantity, range and purpose of the kits vary accordingly.

Health Record Books

With most medevac cases from remote villages and rural health facilities, patients come with no health record books for their treatment and administration records. We made it our business to ensure they have a health record book before they are transferred to urban hospitals.

BLood onboard

We get emergency blood 'O' from ANGAU Hospital and administer transfusion on-site when patient is in critical condition and need blood. We run a regular "Blood Donation Drive" (thanks to ANGAU Blood Transfusion Unit) purposely for that.

SNAKEBITE MANAGEMENT

Through the PNGAus Partnership, and thanks to the Port Moresby-based Charles Campbell Toxinology Centre (CCTC), we ensure we have 3x Polyvalent Antivenoms in stock at the Lae Heliport. Antivenoms are taken onboard medevac flights to snake bite patients, and it is administered on-site, before patient is medevaced to hospital. Regular snake bite refresher/training with CCTC are done to ensure Medevac team is updated with any new information
